Mentoring

One of our key program components is the relationship between a student and his/her mentor. Mentoring involves encouraging, supporting, and spending time with students in a variety of ways. The Mentor Program is for Christian men and women who are willing to spend a few hours each month with a Teen Challenge student.

Because of the spiritual responsibility involved in mentoring a student, prospective mentors must first fill out an application, which you can download here. Once your application has been processed, usually within a few days of receipt, you will receive a letter confirming your acceptance along with an invitation to attend one of our mentor training events. After completion of the training, you will be matched up with a current student in need of a mentor.

If you have more questions about mentoring, please contact us.

Tutoring

Another key need for volunteers is to provide students with help in understanding and completing their lesson assignments. For some of our students, the amount of new information they are constantly learning can seem overwhelming at times. A tutor comes in to give a student support and practical help in their learning process. While not as intense of a commitment as mentoring, tutoring provides another avenue to form positive, encouraging relationships with students.

Office Help

As with any large organization, there is always a need for volunteers to come and help with sorting, organizing, answering phones and general office help. If you have regular time to spare, please give us a call, and we can let you know of any immediate or near future needs.

Prayer Team

Imagine the power of 10,000 prayers a day! That is our goal with the 10,000 a Day to Pray Campaign. Our students come to us scared and facing the biggest challenge of their lives. Only through God’s help will they have the strength and courage to face their strongholds and overcome their addictions. With your prayers, you can join others who are partnering in prayer to end the bondage of addition.
